In 2011, we set out to create a program that would give back to area high schools. We spent countless hours and weeks crossing our fingers hoping it would work out.
Finally, it all came together and we had created the program known as Powerade 4 Schools.
Before we knew it, we had our first school on board and the rest, as they say, is history!
Powerade for Schools was founded to give back to area schools, with the goal of creating positive experiences for local High School Athletes. For Every Powerade purchased within the schools or local community, Viking Coca-Cola gives a portion of the sales back to participating high schools.

With the success of Powerade for Schools, we decided to take the program further and not only give back to the school’s athletic programs, but to the athletes and students themselves through the Powerade Athletes of the year program.
In 2016, ten students we given the title of Powerade Athlete of the Year and received a $1000 award. This year, we will be awarding ten more worthy students.
A Powerade Athlete of the Year is not only someone who is talented on the field, but someone who shows pride for their school and community. Last year’s winners did just that!
In 2017, we hope to find ten more students who exemplify the core philosophies of the Powerade for Schools and Powerade Athlete of the Year Programs: leadership and community involvement.
Do you have what it takes to become a Powerade Athlete of the Year?
Online submissions are now open and will close February 28th, 2017 at 11:59pm. Don't miss your chance to become a Powerade Athlete of the Year!
